The Starting Point

Our starting point for the project initiation process is the AITSIS [i] map of Indigenous Australia, which acknowledges Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Australia is made up of many different and distinct groups, each with their own culture, customs, language and laws.

This approach challenges the predominant Torrens system of real property land tenure recognised throughout Australia by the Lands administrative divisions of Australia, which in turn uses the cadastral system.
